A story of slavery — and space

The United States signed an agreement to launch rockets from a space base Brazil. But expanding the base to make room for more launches threatens to displace thousands from communities founded hundreds of years ago by former slaves. This piece uses immersive graphics to show which communities would be affected by the expansion, and why the Brazilian space base is so appealing to America.
